A better-prepared job search.

Understand remote eligibility, tailor your application, and check an opportunity before you apply.

Check whether “remote” includes you.

Read the employer’s location requirements before you apply. A remote role may require residence in a particular country, permission to work there, or overlap with a specific time zone.

  • Worldwide: confirm that the employer accepts applicants in your country. Payment and contract arrangements may still vary.
  • Country-restricted: check residence and work-authorization requirements. A remote arrangement does not remove those requirements.
  • Time-zone overlap: compare the required working hours with your local schedule.

Make your experience easy to find.

Match your résumé to the responsibilities you can support with examples. Explain what you did, who it helped, and the result. For remote roles, include experience with written communication, distributed teams, or independent work when relevant.

Check the company and application link.

Find the role on the employer’s careers page when possible. Check the domain before sharing documents. Treat requests to pay a recruiter or buy equipment through a particular vendor as a reason to investigate before proceeding.

Keep AI project work in perspective.

AI evaluation and annotation platforms may offer contract projects rather than steady employment. Check current availability, country access, payment terms, and the project’s requirements. Do not assume that a platform registration guarantees work.
